Photoinduced electron transfer between the cationic complexes Ru[N[H.sub.3].sub.5]p[z.sup.2+] and trans-RuCl([15]ane[N.sub.4])N[O.sup.2+] mediated by phosphate ion: visible light generation of nitric oxide for biological targets
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the photochemical behavior of the tetraazamacrocyclic complex trans-RuCl([15]ane[N.sub.4])N[O.sup.2+] in a 10 nm phosphate buffer solution, pH 7.4, and in the presence of Ru[N[H.sub.3].sub.5]p[z.sup.2+] (Rup[z.sup.2+]) is described. It is observed that the phosphate aids in the formation of a supramolecular complex between the two ruthenium amine cationic complexes, RuCl([15]ane)[(NO).sup.2+] and Ru[(N[H.sub.3]).sub.5]p[z.sup.2+], which is demonstrated by the effects on spectral, electrochemical, and diffusional properties and by the visible light photosensitization of NO release from RuN[O.sup.2+] upon excitation of Rup[z.sup.2+] chromophore.

Synthesis of PtNPs/AQ/Ru[(bpy).sub.3.sup.2} colloid and its application as a sensitive solid-state electrochemiluminescence sensor material
Article Abstract:
The facile synthesis of the novel platinum nanoparticles/Eastman AQ55D/ruthenium(II) tris(bipyridine) (PtNPs/AQ/Ru[(bpy).sub.3.sup.2}) colloidal material for ultrasensitive ECL solid-state sensors is reported. The electronic conductivity and electroactivity of PtNPs in composite film made the sensor exhibit faster electron transfer, higher ECL intensity of Ru[(bpy).sub.3.sup.2}, and shorter equilibration time than Ru[(bpy).sub.3.sup.2} immobilized in pure AQ film.

Influence of anions on intervalence charge transfer (IVCT) in mixed-valence dinuclear complexes
Article Abstract:
The electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical analysis is done to determine the influence of anions on the IVCT processes in the mixed-valence dinuclear ruthenium and osmium complexes. Results showed significant differences in the two techniques in the order and extent of effects induced by a number of inorganic anions.
